I'm not dating on-line, so can't comment on the profile strategy for kids... However, I'm 45, almost 46, and I could probably have a child *IF* it was important to my future partner. But this hugely depends on her personality type. I learned the hard way that some women are just not motherly, and there's no way I could raise another child now. I already have two kids which I more or less raise myself, plus I travel a lot. But if it was important to her, and she was going to do 70% of the work, perhaps even stay at home, etc., etc., then OK.
I suppose it could be an issue when I'm 70 at their college graduation. But on the other hand (and perhaps this is selfish?) I don't feel old at all now. I'm in the best shape of my life. So, while there are no guarantees in life, I don't really see my age as a huge issue. But again, I would have to continue to exercise to maintain my current energy levels. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair to the child.
