Logging Insanity!

I've done a search of the forums but can't find exactly how much Insanity burns!
I'm 5'1", weigh 132 pounds..Is there anyone with similar stats who can give me an approximate number? I don't think heart rate monitors are available where I live (and if they are they'll cost an arm and a leg).
I logged the Fit Test as circuit training..but 25 minutes apparently only burns 200 calories. I sure felt like I burnt a lot more than that!! :P

I really wish I had the answer to your question. I asked the same question about P90X and someone pointed me to an awesome site that calculated each individual workout based on your weight and intensity. It made it so easy. I am trying to search the web for something similar for Insanity and have not found it yet. Still looking. If anyone else out there knows of something, please share.

I bought a timex from amazon for about $45

I'm 5'4" 155lbs. It tells me that I burn about 700 cals work out when i do real insanity workouts. Not fit test not recovery. Fit test i only burned about 260 for the work out. I can post how much the others burn, but really it is a personal thing. I don't know how fit you are, how many breaks you will take ectera.

200 sounds a little low but I'm not sure for someone 3 inches shorter than me. Hope this helped a bit.

I'm 5'1 and 110lbs and pretty fit, I just finished P90X and I also run 4-6 miles a day and I only burned 149 calories doing the fit test. Your'e best bet is going to get a HRM, you can order them online from amazon and they ship pretty quickly.

I agree with jaime. Your best bet is to get a hrm online or at your local Target. which is where i got mine. I burned 250 cals with the fit test and im 4'11 weight 120 lb. i will do some research on this and repost if i find something close.

Thanks for the advice everyone..problem is, I live in Bangladesh and I can't order off e-bay or amazon from here. I can have someone bring me a HRM if they go abroad, but that'll be a while, so til then I'm stuck doing calculations based on other people of a similar height/weight. I'm not all that fit..so maybe I'll just stick to what MFP calculates for high intensity aerobics?
Thanks once again! Please let me know if you find anything helpful! :)

best thing would be to make your own exercise here on mfp. theres a way bc i just tried to do it too to test it out. but the closest would probably be high impact aerobics or circuit training. at least for now right? just remember to take a lot of pics now and every 2 weeks. that is the best way to track results and how many calories you've burned over the days. keep pressing play! you are doing a great job! mines broke yesterday. well i left it out and my 2 year old through it in the toilet  oh well for now im on the same boat as you as i have no money to spend on hrm until 2 weeks bc they start at around $40 for the cheap ones but want to get a good one thats gonna last. oh bummer but its okay as long as we keep burning these calories thats all that matters!!:drinker:

I'm 5'3" and 136 pounds I burn about 400 on my HRM each insanity workout. I would def recommend getting a HRM!! I got a new one last week. Went to best buy and got a polar f7 for 50$ on clearance. They are normally above the 100$ mark and are supposed to be best out there. Def use a HRM with chest strap for accuracy. Good luck!!
