3 days is usually my limit for 0's....so we shall see what tonight brings. I don't feel any better with all those 0's. I am feeling good about the exercise and pretty good with the eating though.0 -
Well, Kate, there has to be one of us to represent the lushes.
Sydney, glad that you are feeling better with exercise and healthy eating.
I've got to get laundry done and prep some dinner. I'm also thinking how nice a pedicure would be.
:drinker: :drinker: Wine night tomorrow with my yummy chard/butter/gorgonzolla pasta:drinker: :drinker:0 -
Don't worry Kblue I'm right there with you!!
Good job everyone else on your 0's :flowerforyou: and thanks Yvonne, things are better now
So the biggest weight of the wedding has been lifted from my shoulders ..... our pups will be there!!!!!!!
I was so worried about leaving them for so long not to mention they're my babies and I really wanted them there for our HUGE day. I contacted Jackie at the Manor which is who the packet said to talk to about pets and she was absolutely wonderful. We're figuring out how to do it but I am just so incredibly happy that they will be there. I am definitely getting pictures with them and hopefully some video I tried on my costume wedding dress yesterday and Jinx laid right down on the train, it was the cutest thing so I'm hoping for a shot like that with my actual wedding dress.
So despite this lush having too much booze yesterday, not enough food and being a tad hungover .... nothing could ruin this mood  I'm also feeling SUPER slim today so that doesn't hurt either haha. Think I'll spend today lounging and possibly putting the bridesmaid gifts together :glasses:

holy crap that sounds good. recipe?0 -
I have been lushy this week.
an old friend came in from out of town
The Cards got the wild card.
Wed - 2 shots and 3 beers0 -
Linguine & Mushroom: grilled wild mushroom, shallot, spinach, fresh herbs, black river gorgonzola, white wine butter sauce
Lemon Chardonnay Butter Sauce:
¼ cup butter (salted)
¼ cup Chardonnay wine
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
¾ teaspoon granulated sugar
Dash salt
1 1/3 cups heavy cream
This is the only recipe I could find when I looked for it. I was going to leave out the lemon and use this for a base and tweak as needed. However, since I got to the restaurant once a month, I figure it's a treat. They use Black River Gorgonzolla and it must be added in the end because the chunks are everywhere and it just kind of melts in.0 -

I have to admit yesterday was very very difficult. Boss was a total B and when I got home I was one cranky @ss B myself. But I somehow made it thru. I do feel better in the morning but it sure is hard to fall asleep. I am also compensating by eating too much sugar. No promises but I will just keep going until I don't want to anymore.0 -
Yep, Day 3 is usually the deal breaker...yes, falling asleep is horrible, maybe some melatonin might help
Zip, friends make us extra lushy, good luck with the cardinals. I have on my White Sox t-shirt today and I am kind of embarrassed - but - a cubs shirt would be more embarrasssing. Sorry, Chole0 -
Monday - 0
Tuesday - 2 Bloody Marys
Wednesday - 1 Hard cider0 -
congrats zip!
and awww....don't make fun of cubs fans. they are die hards..gotta love em. us padres fans are almost as pitiful.0 -
Yea us cub fans can take it...we are used to it. My uncle keeps wanting us to come visit in Coronado and my husband said we will only go when the cubs are there so we can see a game vs the padres. I guess he went to the stadium once before we met and loved it.0
-
omg chloe..you MUST come to petco..it's a beautiful park. We will join you. My husband is from Chicago and we love to go to Padres/Cubs games.
Ok...well I adopted a new baby.
Her name is Bella (not from those vampire movies)..my other cat's name is Bonita..both are spanish names for Pretty/beautiful

Yes, the Cub fans are die hards. I have to admit Wrigleyville is a great place to hang out, great vibe. So, many different bars and so little time.
That would be very cool if you all went to a game together...now, I want to go...I could wear a padre's hat
Sun - Thurs, all zeros and I cannot wait for my wine night & pasta.0 -

SO cute!! I love Bella the name, definitely a possibility for our first girl but Isabella as that was my grandmother's name on my fathers side. I never got to meet her but I've been told she was an amazing woman unlike the rest of that family and I love the name.0 -
Bella is my pup's name  cute kitty!!
Oh boy could you imagine all the lushes at a ball game together....haha! That would be awesome! And Wrigleyville is great. I might be partial, but Chicago is the best city ever, I just love it.

Adorable little kitty!
Entering day 5 of Sober October and having the opposite sleep problem, I can't seem to get enough. I figured I would have a really hard time because I hit it HARD at the end of September (1 to 2 bottles of wine a night) but it hasn't been bad. I have had the sugar cravings as well, and been giving in to a few foods I wouldn't normally eat, but I figure I'm still taking in fewer calories without my wine. I do miss it...
Hope everyone is having a great month!0 -
Don't have time to catch up with everyone so I hope you are all splendid!
Here is this week's count:

It has been sooo long since I have been able to post that. I was so crabby last night my husband said, "would you please just have a damn drink!" I told him I couldn't and he said okay and that he was proud of me. Then he proceeded to give me a back rub to calm my nerves. He is such a keeper. :bigsmile:0 -
Lushes! I am back! Hopefully for a while haha. I have been super lazy and living it up. 11.6kg gain whoops.

Nope the pshyc is not working. It's Friday and I may cave. I will hold out as long as I can but this may just become a Soberer October for me not a Sober October. Still I have done well and I can do it again next week. That is if I actually give in. I haven't yet.
:blushing:0 -
Robin, keep up the good work, you are doing so well.
I have just started on my 3rd glass of wine, it's the first time in ages I've actually been pleasantly tipsy and not just felt tired and icky almost straight away after drinking, thank god I can still drink :drinker: ......until next month0 -

I did make a blackberry bread pudding (needed to use up the blackberries)with a blackberry calvados sauce but I only used about a teaspoon of calvados and it was cooked so I don't think that counts. (side note the Calvados was from my trip to the north of France in 2002. There was about a tablespoon left in the bottom of the bottle. Well aged but awesome in the sauce.)0
