I have ran 1 mile in my 25 years of existence. Back in 2002, I ran the dreaded mile for the physical fitness test in 10th grade. It was the only time I had/have ever ran a mile without stopping (10:15)...until today. This morning, W5D3, I ran 21 minutes, 1.9 miles!!! The feeling is more than incredible! I never ever thought I'd see the day.

Day 2 this week was a little rough, but today I just relaxed, focused on breathing, and brought it home!!!

I think the operative word there is "relax". It's amazing how different the run feels if you're focused on relaxing, versus focused on whether you're going to make it or not.

So true!!! As soon as I start thinking about whether I'll make it or not, my mind tells me to quit.
  • I did it! 20 minutes of running, no stopping! Felt great too.

Awesome!!! So tell me, does W6D1 seem like it's going to be an easy day after what you accomplished today?

    Indeed It does!
I don't understand the method but since it's working I'll just trust it. 5 weeks ago i couldnt run for more than a minute.

I am going to re-do W5 D3 tomorrow - I have a 7k fun run on Sunday. Twice as far but maybe the atmosphere will inspire me? I'd like to run the whole thing, but chose the fun run set up on purpose!

I agree, I don't quite understand the method as it pertains to week 6 but the program hasn't let me down yet! Good luck with your fun run Sunday!
