I have over 100 pounds to lose. I was just wondering if after the month it will be noticeable. I have been reading that working on muscles doesn't show when you have a lot of fat covering it. I am just wondering if this will help get rid of the fat too? I have never done anything like this before so I feel like I don't anything about working out or eating healthy. Also, I have seen people saying that you have to take a break once a week? Do you have to? I worry if I take a break I will get lazy. Should I still be going on my treadmill too? Help! lol

Hi there,
I used to weigh over 300 lbs and I can say it took about 50 lb weight loss before it was even noticeable to me or anyone else. With that being said, when you are losing weight of course you want to see some progress as a motivation factor. You have to realize sometimes it doesn't come at the pace we would like. I can tell you after 4 days of this, I can see and feel a difference. But I also incorporate C25K and other workouts in the mix. Just take baby steps. You do not have to complete it in 30 days if you are just getting back into a workout groove or if you are completely new to one. Resting is important when starting any new workout regime. The body will thank you for it. I will take a break from this on the wknd and get back to it on Monday. Instead on break days, I will walk or go swimming, something that is not as intense as the 30 DS is. Some people don't take a break. Whatever works for you, then that's what you have to do. I have to say I do like the 30 DS. It kicks my butt some days, but the after euphoria of knowing I pushed through it is totally worth it.
Hope this helps! You can add me if you like. Every bit of motivation helps.0 -
I am a lot like you in that if I take a break, it usually means I am quitting. I intended on taking the weekends off, but now I am thinking maybe just Sunday, if any at all. I am also doing other workouts besides this. I either walk 3 miles, or I use my elliptical. The shred is awesome, but I want to see the results faster, so I know I need to burn more calories. After four days of the shred, I feel my endurance growing majorly. It is still hard, but I can get through it a lot easier than day one. Just go at the pace you can, and take breaks if you need to. You don't want to push your body too far or get hurt. And diet is just as important as exercising. So really try to watch that too, and you should see great results. Also, I would encourage you to do measurements. The scale doesn't show the results as well as the tape measure. Sometimes you will only lose a pound or two and that can be very discouraging. But when it is an inch or two, it feels so much better. Good luck!0

I did 23 days of the shred back in March before I got lazy and quit . I have over 100 to lose and I didn't really lose any pounds, but you can definitely tell a difference. My clothes were much looser and I was in a wedding and actually had to get the dress taken in 2 inches in the chest! I was just eating normal though-I wasn't counting calories or anything, so even though you may not see a huge difference on your scale-you should definitely be able to tell if you are measuring inches. Excited to see/hear about your results!0
