So, S3 then Mellie? :bigsmile:0 -
iPhone 5. It does have its flaws (maps app...really bad), but since it is Apple they will probably fix it quick. Even if you don't know Apple products well, you'll get used to it quick. Even my friends with other smartphones want iPhones.
But in general I am a PC person. But iPhone user.0 -
I have never in my life owned an apple product, nor will I ever. I don't see a purpose in spending exorbitant amounts of money on something that other things can do just as well for cheaper.
That being said, I have a Samsung Focus S Windows 7 phone, haha! If I had to chose I would totally get the galaxy. I love Samsung.0 -
I hate f'in Apple, the way they lock their phones completely (it's hard to tweak them as much as you would like to) and also hate their current business strategy which consist more or less at the moment to sue every company that creates a smartphone.
That said, the combination of their iPhone + iOS is overall slicker and working better than the current Android versions (and probably future versions for quite some time).
Also App developers hardly make a penny on Android so there is little incentive to go and develop more stuff for this platform (unless you're a massive business).
So overall winner for me is... iPhone? But I have to wash my mouth now that I said it.0 -
This thread would cause tons of arguments in my house. My son hates Apple. I own several Apple products.0
-
Wow, its looking like its 3 - 2 to iphone!!!
We better get your son registered to even things up Mom2rh!! :laugh:0 -

Awwww man, sorry to hear that! Why isn't Adroid paying more for apps?? I really dont want iphone to corner the app market too!! (although they probably already have?) You know I'm not au fait with apps in general, but I'm learning :bigsmile:0 -
Brand fanaticism is a very interesting topic. I recently read a book that dives into this a bit called "Primal Branding". Good stuff if you are in sales, marketing, or just looking to understand various influences at work in your life.
I am not going to chime in with an opinion here, as it is akin to debating religion.
I use 100% Apple products at this time as it is a requirement for work. They get the job done, as any tool should. I view them as tools and not lifestyle decisions.
Oh, and the person posting below me is wrong.0 -
So I'm wrong jesus? lol
All I can say is I love apple products and would never turn back.0 -
Its not the Samsung 3 but i have to say the samsung i have is pretty nice easy to understand and navigate. for the record....Apple can go practice some safe sex.....ya....u know what im sayin....lol0

Haha!! It was one of those days, huh!?
No iphones here, but I hope to get one soon.0 -
Well, for an engineering girl who's good with computers, I'm surprisingly UNATTACHED to phones. I still use a flip phone and only started texting last year, hahahaha! So that said, work is stepping up where I'm actually considering a smart phone of some type. These two were the ones I'm considering.
That said, because I don't care about a phone, brands, etc... I hear the iPhone is the closer version of "Smart Phones for Dummies" so I'll head that direction most likely. I love my iPod Touch and have always jumped on that wagon quickly because I LOVE music, so I might as well stick with it....
How's that for pointless voting?! Good thing I take political decisions more seriously, haha....0 -
See I don't get the arguement that an Iphone is so expensive. It is the same price as the samsung. Right now i have an Iphone4 and I am up for an upgrade so I am debating between the Iphone5 and S3. I will more then likely stay with the Iphone just because it will be an easier transition.
FYI I grew up in an anti-Apple household since my dad worked for IBM. So the only apple products I own are my phone and a shuffle that my sister gave me.0 -
I like the apple products, but what I dont like is how its hasnt really changed that much, or evolved into anything else, like the game changer it was with the iphone 3. Its still the same general base of software. They are also too controlling. Jailbreaking is great, but voids warranty's!0

Despite the fact that the general tone in the forum has made me consider just leaving the group, I am tempted to take this as a challenge and find a way to offend at least one of the listed groups of age, sex, race or religion. Hell I want to go for the grand slam.
Hmmm. Can I get a little help from those of you for whom this type of thing just comes naturally?
Oh yeah! If it works, I'll be in Las Vegas all weekend so I won't even be be around to pay attention.0 -
I wouldnt worry about it mate, its the interwebs. Thats just how it rolls.0

Thought I was the last one.0 -

The thing is Android is a lot more loose in term of control (as opposed to Apple), so this gives much more opportunity for hacked/pirated applications. And why pay for something when you can have it for free...
Also there are ways to reverse engineer and distribute an identical copy an app on Android phones. Which means you release an app hoping to make some dough on it, and the next day some dude in the middle of China has just copied your app and distributed it everywhere for free. Can't do anything about that!
Let's put it this way, given the most common business model of app developers, it is more profitable to make apps on iPhone at this stage.0 -
I strongly dislike Apple products.
They have been the source of many headaches...0 -

This. I don't like Apple for forcing you to use "Apple approved" apps. Unless you go through the "jailbreak" process. Even then, that can render your phone useless. I want the liberty and download and install what I want. If it ****s up my phone, so be it. I took the risk. My vote is for Samsung.0 -

Don't leave, I would miss you :brokenheart:0 -
I have an iPhone 4, which I acquired after much digging in of heels, and am now somewhat addicted. I would never buy a Mac, or an iPod, but I do love my phone. That said, I won't be upgrading it until they release the 6 at least, by which time they will hopefully have ironed out the glitches. My map function is essential! (In actual fact, I refuse to update the OS either. I like iOS4, and the alternatives don't seem appealing.)0

I have a very basic Nokia phone. I had an iPhone, but I got sick of constantly checking email during the day. I just couldn't help myself. So now my phone is for calling and texting only.
I will admit, however, that I have an iPad, and carry it everywhere in my satchel (man purse to you Americans). And while that also enables 24/7 email, I tend to check it much less. So I'm happier. I do use a Mac, so I suppose I'm in the Apple congregation. But I do agree that their anti-competitive behavior and greed knows no bounds.
Oh, and organized religion sucks. ;-)

My timing is, as always, impeccable - for the purposes of causing the greatest possible disruption0 -
OK Prahas....., you've tipped the balance more in favour of the iphone.......10 - 8.......:grumble:
Come on you Androids, where are ya?? :bigsmile:0 -
I'm adding to the iPhone side. I grew up in an Apple/Mac family, in fact the very first home computer I can remember as a child was one of those Apple II computers with the green screens. So I suppose it makes sense that I currently have an iPhone 4s. Truth be told though, until last spring I still had a flip phone, and only recently converter. Wouldn't go back!0
