I just got the S3 and I love it. I fully intended on getting the new iPhone when it came out until I read the reviews and it didn't sound like they added anything new or groundbreaking, but they screwed a few things up. Then the more I read about the S3 the more I liked it
As far as apps go, Android has plenty of apps to choose from. I've never had a problem finding one that did what I needed it to for free. I've never owned an iPhone so I really can't comment on their app store though. I just hear they have a lot more games.
But I'm a big tech geek and I like playing with all the customizations and everything.0 -

Smiling, because that is exactly what I ordered!! And I was so freaking excited about receiving it today!! However, I had to go to work this afternoon and so I missed the courier!!! So now I have to wait till Monday!! :sad:
I'm not a phone freak or geek by any stretch of the imagination, so I did read a lot of reviews and ask around friends before I decided on the Galaxy. The main reasons I thought it won over the iphone are:
1. The screen size is huge! Like a tablet almost. So, great for web search and video streaming and just looking at with my failing eyesight!! :noway:
2. There is a sensor that detects you're looking at it, so it doesnt dim, or go to screensaver out the blue! That really annoys me with my current phone, so big plus :bigsmile:
3. I'm not a huge app user, so wasnt too bothered about app stores etc - although there is a text app that cuts the text time in half, the name of which escapes me atm, but its a droid app!
4. It knows when you want to talk - awesome feature, just lift handset to ear and it dials the number.
5. You can multi task - eg watch a video and text at the same time, resize and drag the window.....awesome! :bigsmile:
MY one and only reservation is that the handset is too big for one handed texting!! I have small hands, but hey ho, I dont get too many complaints about that!!! :laugh:0 -
My roommate has had one for about a month and he STILL pesters me showing off all the awesome stuff it can do. It's a neat phone I just am not that techy. My windows phone works exactly perfectly for what I want and use

The person that said "apple are rotten to the core" gets my vote just for humour content. Not sure how 'slave labour' comes into it though, in the days of slavery you would not be beating up on your QC manager.....lol I love the Chinese, they are totally off the scale.... :bigsmile:

Yes, but it's 3 years old.. 3G model or something... I still use it, as I have two phone numbers (for one more week). Soon I'm going to give it away, and just keep my basic Nokia.
I do think Apple is evil, but so are just about all large corporations. I am a hypocrite, however, as I'm typing this on a Macbook, which I love. And I carry my iPad everywhere... I'm a sucker for good design.
But I bought Samsung phones for my kids, and they are happy. So I'm sure you've made a great choice.

Well, for an engineering girl who's good with computers, I'm surprisingly UNATTACHED to phones. I still use a flip phone and only started texting last year, hahahaha! So that said, work is stepping up where I'm actually considering a smart phone of some type. These two were the ones I'm considering.
That said, because I don't care about a phone, brands, etc... I hear the iPhone is the closer version of "Smart Phones for Dummies" so I'll head that direction most likely. I love my iPod Touch and have always jumped on that wagon quickly because I LOVE music, so I might as well stick with it....
How's that for pointless voting?! Good thing I take political decisions more seriously, haha....

My boss gave me my first iPhone3 and when I got an upgrade I went to iPhone4. Well now it is time for me to upgrade again and drumroll ....... DUH - Apple iPhone5

Well, I just had to report in about my phone tonight..........
So, I work a lot of evenings (I'm a kitchen designer) and tonight my phone notified me that one of my ebay lots was ending!
Right in the middle of measuring up a kitchen :noway:
So, I discreetly lay my phone next to my measuring board and continue to bid for the item (boots) while I'm working :bigsmile:
And I won the bid!!!
How freaking exciting is THAT!!! :laugh:0 -
