nausea--yuck!

I did a quick search of this group to see if anyone has posted about this before and couldn't find anything about it. If this topic has been covered previously I do apologize.
I have been feeling off and on mild nausea/queasiness yesterday and again today. This has happened in previous months, but not every cycle. I'm perimenopausal, almost 46, and my cycles are changing. This feels like morning sickness (that's hormonally caused) but I know I'm definitely NOT pregnant. I'm not even worried about that possibility. It's just really annoying to be going about my business and then get hit with a small wave of nausea and wonder if it's going to amount to anything or if it will simply abate on its own.
One month I had breast pain during this part of my cycle. I don't which which one is worse, although both are annoying.
Do any of you perimenopausal ladies suffer from this mid-cycle, or as part of PMS, or those who are menopausal, did you have this happen? It sometimes helps just to know I'm not alone in this.

Hi, I realised only a couple of months ago that my nausea sessions were obviously are down to menopause. Had one only an hour ago. They have actually sent me to bed before, especially when the dizziness set in. I bought some ginger (crystalized ginger - as it was the only one I could find) and chew on a couple of pieces of that when I feel this queasy. It does help (me).
The awful thing is as its harder for me now to know when I am actually due, I can not gauge where these are in my cycle. Its all a bit weird. Sorry........0 -
Thank you for sharing this. It helps to know I'm not the only one dealing with this, whether peri or post menopausal. Gosh, I really hope that the occasional nausea doesn't continue beyond menopause for me. I think that I have a few years yet before I'm actually fully into menopause. My mother took HRT so she can't tell me when, exactly, she stopped cycling.0

I am technically "through" menopause (according to my blood work) but still get nauseous right before a hot flash. Evidently Mother Nature didn't think suffering through an internal furnace blast wasn't enough torment for me and added the feeling of wanting to puke right before.0

I sometimes have it prior to menstruating but I assumed it was part of the migraine which I often get around that time since menopause ensued.0

I'm 47. From about 44-46 I would get nausea mid cycle every few months. It got so bad the doc gave me a stand by prescription for morning sickness meds.
About a year ago I went back on bio-identical progesterone
About a year ago I added daily evening primrose (suggested by my doc for uber sore boobs)
About 9 months ago I started running.
Not sure which helped, but I haven't barfed in about a year!
Good luck figuring it out. it was MY LEAST favorite symptom.
fwiw: I also get some dizziness, vertigo etc., and some nausea with hot flashes, but THIS was different. This was HOURS of wanting to puke. Very much like morning sickness.0 -
I am also perimenopausal and find I suffer from nauseau and dizziness. I thought it had to be something else as I had never heard of that as a symptom before, so the last time I saw my dr. I mentioned it and he said it is all a part of it.
I have never really thought about when in my cycle it is as my cycle is out of wack now I never really know if or when I am going to menstrate.
I also feel get nauseous sometimes when I have hot flashes, which also have increased in intensity lately.... this really does suck for sure!0 -
Thought I'd gotten all the obnoxiousness menopause could hand out but apparently not. That stinks ladies. I wonder if it's mediated by sudden blood sugar swings? A sudden low will cause you to feel nauseated and dizzy. With how wonky the hormones become - and how interdependent they are - it's definitely a possibility.0
