I like this forum because of the posts. Like to hear from other single peeps, might meet someone I could hit it off with and great posts.

People who have coupled off have no idea the type of stuff we go through, especially if they have been off the dating scene for more than like 3 years.

This reminds me of one of my favorite jokes. I've shared it on here before but it's too funny not to share again.

"I think the longer you're in a relationship, the more you begin to forget what it was like to have ever been single, and how the game actually works. Whenever I'm in a bar with a couple who I'm friends with, they'll inevitably say, "Hey, Karo, check out that girl over there. She's totally cute - you should just go talk to her." Oh, is that all I have to do? Just go talk to her? Well, thanks for clearing that up, because I was just gonna whip my d!ck out and hope she came over and touched it. But just go talk to her? That's a foolproof plan! Is that how you two met? Who knew it was that easy? Thank God I have you and your girlfriend here to show me how the world works. Now stop holding hands and drinking chardonnay and get the $@%$ out of my face so I can continue stalking this chick from a distance."

1.) To waste time that could otherwise be used on productive endeavors.
2.) To possibly meet a hot single peep-ette.

    :flowerforyou: (especially the first... seriously)

I post the most on the Single Peeps board and the Chit-Chat board, but I like the Single Peeps board better.

Yes there is drama on both, but there is less drama in Single Peeps than the chit-chat board. I've never had a problem with anyone here and people here give good advice. Unlike the Chit-Chat board, which is full of trolls...

I forget how I first came across this board, but for quite awhile I posted in here quite regularly. Lots of good people in here and a lot less drama then the forums. I have met some great people in here and I like the sharing of opinions with a lot less berating of each other for not always having the same viewpoint.

Then work forced me to travel for a couple of months and I couldnt even log on, since then I really havent been to active on the single peeps pages. I do often read the posts, especially at work when I am wasting time. I find now I have become more of a lurker then an active poster.

And of course I am also here to scope out hot single peep ette's

Someone I wish I could remember who now... referred me here from the main MFP forums.

I enjoy the banter, you guys are like my far away friends.

You guys always give me different perspective, however I am coming to the realization that I'm really really redneck/country/bumpkin etc etc ish. Compared to some on here. That's ok, I enjoy who I am and how I do most things.

I can't say that I've really checked anybody out on here.... does that make me weird? LOL.

Not why are you single, but rather why do you find yourself coming back again and again to the Single Peeps board? Curious what the draw for some is.

Well, because I am scared to death quite honestly! Here I am with my life all planned out, all I needed was the cooperation of the other party. Waited almost 28 years and finally had enough. Realized my joy and happiness were worth being alone.

Now I am swaying in the breeze not knowing what to do.

So I come here and read (which scares MORE hell out of me  ) but realize I am not so different than others. That men are scared too. That young and pretty and fat and skinny and happy and sad people are all scared.

    Or.............at least apprehensive

It makes me think about why I do certain things, the source of that behavior and to get insight into the minds of my peers and to hopefully be proof that being single isnt a bad thing no matter what age you are - as long as you are kicking *kitten* in other areas of life.

I love having others opinions when I am feeling perplexed about something. And I find the people are pretty dang amazing, and I enjoy the conversations immensely!

Others people's topics make me think about how it may apply to my life, and what is going on now. And when I first started I asked a question about a guy I just started seeing, and you were all dead on. We had good times, and a few bad, but he is truly not ready for a relationship, and sent him packing.

So I owe the group a debt of gratitude for your insight! Thank you :)

I dunno why I'm a 'single peep'. I much have joined this group when I joined MFP then promptly forgot about it. Only realized that I'm a member 10 minutes ago.

So there's been a lot of fighting lately. Something about 'strong women'. Does anyone know which side I'm on??

Oh... Because there are sides now?

Why not split the forum in two then if people can't have a healthy debate: the "pro strong women single peeps" and the "con strong women single peeps".

Personally I'd rather have a healthy debate and listen to everyone, since there is definitely some degree of truth in everyone's opinion - so we can just keep doing what we've been doing (just better).

This and also DM being politically correct is strange.
