Anyone else a fan of the Lee Childs novels... Lead character - Reacher is going to be portrayed by Tom Cruise in the new movie. I am so disappointed as I have someone totally different in mind based on the description of the character. I was hoping for Jon Hamm or Liam Neisson. Tom has his moments (Risky Business, Top Gun), but doesn't have the physical persona to pull of the character of Reacher.

I love these novels--don't worry. I'm sure there are other folks here who are avid Lee Childs' readers.
Ugh, I was so disappointed in the casting. Tom Cruise, IMO, does not have the physical presence to do this character justice.
I'm not easily satisfied, I'm not happy with Tyler Perry as Alex Cross either!

I'm only on book 2 of the series so I can't really comment but on initial impressions I can't see Cruise pulling off the required gravitas either.0

Just wrong on so many levels that I dont know where to start.
Lee Childs must be a fairly wealthy guy, i feel he has sold out by selling Cruise the film rights.
Shame really as they would have made great films with the right leading man!0
