Shoes/socks/blisters

Hey,
I am getting ready to start training seriously but I have one issue. No matter what shoes I wear or how many pairs of socks I wear I get HORRIBLE blisters, like to the point that my entire heel is bloody and raw. It's happened all my life, and it's not just in one particular pair/kind of shoe, tennies, boots, heels, sandals, etc, after about 1/4 of a mile they start to rub and then poof...insane pain. I usually can push through and finish but then am down for a few days while they heal up. Any ideas/suggestions?

- Proper double-layer running socks
- Body glide or vaseline or another lubricant
- Moleskin or 2nd skin dressings (I find moleskin slips, but the 2nd skin dressings stay put) on any hot spots or blisters
- If you have shoes (such as Asics) that cause blisters in the arch, add gel insoles0 -
I had trouble with shoes slipping up and down on my narrow heels until I learned how to properly tie my shoes to run. Check out 'how to tie your running shoes' on the internet or You Tube. Maybe this will help you too0

Ah, good point. I also have to get shoes that have extra eyelets and lace them a particular way to keep them from slipping, especially with my smaller foot and lift.0

yes the person fitting me for shoes at the running store showed me the extra eyelet that is a little further back to help with the heel slipping issue.0
