GMO Documentary

Hey! This is an interesting documentary on the effects of GMOs on humans and animals. I didn't realize exactly how detrimental GMOs are until watching this. It is incredibly sad the grip large companies and the government have on our food and ultimately our health. It is free for the next week.

I took a genetic engineering course for my biochemistry masters. I was seriously appalled to learn about all the unintended and unknown consequences of genetically engineering foods. The government only recalls a GM food if it shows acute toxic effects, and inserting genes can affect so much protein production and expression that we have no idea the effects of. Proteins control EVERYTHING in the body, so its stupid to think that not seeing any immediate ill effects means its harmless.0

Yes, it's scary and infuriating what is being done in the name of profits, population control, or whatever. It's not conspiracy, it's reality.
I'm reading "Stolen Harvest" by Vandana Shiva. It's a short book, but right to the point. She focuses on India, of course, but refers to other examples as well. What is being done by corporations and the WTO in third world and developing nations is a crime against humanity (and the world). I can't decipher any other motivations besides profits, the intentional destruction of the food supply, and eventual de-population. (The same corporate elites promoting GMO and monoculture are also storing heirloom seeds; why?)
Shiva shows clearly how the corporate claims that GMO increases yield is false, has NEVER been proven, and that monoculture is actually decreasing crop yields, wreaking havoc on the environment and destroying the lives of many people.0
