Can someone explain to me what is reset?

I am new to this group and I also have hypothyroid. I believe that we need more calories to lose weight. I am wanting to know what reset is.

    eating at TDEE for 4 to 12 weeks

    Basically, this is upping your calories for awhile, at least to TDEE so that your body "resets" itself. If we go one a diet that is prolonged, sometimes this is necessary just to reboot your metabolism.

    I am looking at bulking, but felt I should do the reset first. I'm almost 2 weeks in. Welcome to the forum!
