Please what is the difference between Carbs and net carbs?
I record on MFP and i eat roughly 20g of carbs is that my net carb or i have to take away the fibre from that 20g?.

Please feel free to check my diary and any great advice and comments are welcomed(ps ignore diary entry for 13/10 that was a one off :embarassed: but over that now.) and moving on.....

Thanks in advance:smile:

    Your profile doesn't state location.

If in the US (Canada too?) , yes you deduct fibre from carbs to get Net carbs.

If pretty much anywhere else in the world fibre is labelled seperate from carbs already so carbs listed are net carbs.

net carbs is total carbs minus fiber which are the only thing that affect our blood sugar;)

Foomsy, I also want to add that the reason we don't count carbs from fiber in the net carb count is because our bodies do not absorb it.

You also need to subtract sugar alcohols from your total carbs along with fiber. Sugar alcohols are found in low carb sweets like chocolate, Atkins bars, ice cream.... You won't see sugar alcohols listed on most food labels but if they are there, subtract them too.
