lunges in stage 1...am i doing them right?

for example.. for 15 reps i did 30(15 for each leg)
am i supposed to actually only do 15 per set???

You did it right.

I do them 7 going forward and 8 going in reverse on each leg. When going in reverse it sends my heart rate way up!0
