I just finished c25k w1d1. There is a reindeer run December 7th that I have been wanting to run in for 2 years. Is there any way I can be ready by then? That looks to be around week 7.

Thanks!

Week 7 starts the longer runs, no intervals, so you might not be used to that yet. It's OK to walk some of it. Don't worry.

You'll be fine :) You might still have to do some walking breaks to cover the whole distance but you will be fine ^^

Thank you!! I just wanna wear the jingle bells and the light up antlers. Its such a cute run :) I'm gonna talk my super fit husband into registering for it with me.
  • If you apply yourself and stick to the program, and push yourself...yes, you should be ready.
I'm starting Week 7 tomorrow, and yesterday I ran for about 40 minutes non-stop, not quite 3 miles, but I probably could have pushed myself to do it.
Good luck!! Enjoy the ride, it's a lot of fun, and VERY addicting!! :)

You will be surprised at what you can do when you reach week 7. Push through the tough days because believe me, they will come, often. But there will be a day that you will be running for 10, 15, 20, 25 minutes, and you will look back and laugh at how hard it was to run 60 seconds. You will be ready for your run in December!

Yeah, looking back at those agonizing first 60 second runs is amazing! I almost can't comprehend HOW it was so hard! LOL

I didnt exaclty enjoy those 60 second runs this morning! I think I probably should've ran a bit slower at first but I was so ready for them to be over at the end.

I guarantee you that you won't be the only one to take walking breaks. You may also find that IF YOU PACE YOURSELF, you are able to finish the 5k without walking :)

    victory either way.

Before you know it, you too will be looking back (re-reading this thread) and laughing too at how easy you find it now :)

I ran a 5k today. I had hoped to be a week 7 by now. For a variety of reasons, I am only on week 4. I finished the race in 36.20. I was able to jog the entire first half and took three very short walking breaks on the second half. A lot of people were walking, so I didn't feel or look silly. You will be fine. Go for it. it was so much fun!

Thank you! And good job :)

I picked up the registration packet for the race. Week 1 is in the bag, week 2 starts tomorrow.
