My First MFP Diary Entry, How Things Change

I've just been trawling back through my MFP history for fun (yeh, I am THAT bored ... and it's too hot here for physical activity ;)).

My initial 2 months was low fat and the last 7 months have been low carb, it's made for some interesting reading and food choices.

My last slice of bread was consumed on March 21st ... and I seem to still be alive, amazing.

I am struck by how little I ate back in the first couple of months (often under 1200 cals) and how little fat-loss progress I was making ...

Here is Day 1 (Feb 9th), which was typical:
Breakfast: Turkish Bread, Vegemite, Tea (2 sugars) <!--- No spread, because fat makes you fat, right?

Lunch/Dinner: Chicken Noodle Soup, Onion, Beef Mince, Rice <!--- Nasty processed canned soup, beef OK though

Snacks: Corn Thins (argh!), Celery, Hot Relish, Carrot Stick <!--- Some attempt at 'not being hungry', I can bet I was AND cranky

10g of fat for the whole day ... which was typical for a while, I got really good at avoiding dietary fat for a few months.

What a fool I was and bloody hungry.

  • I have cycled through so many variances that I'm almost afraid to go back and look. Where I started logging years and years ago was over on LStrong - now that's a log I'd be afraid to look at, but also that's where my eyes opened about foods.

Doubtless I will look back at this one and wonder :)

    It's all a learning experience ...

It's funny when I look back in MFP to a few months ago but with my new macros I have now, its such a difference in what I thought was THE way to go..

I started with low carb low fat, lost a ton but began bingeing carbs, steady weight gain....then Went to leangains but still bingeing carbs and too much protein, then IF but moderate protein, moderate carbs still low fat tho... Now I'm coming around to moderate protein, low carbs and higher fat, the odd fast day and try to eat when I feel I need to..it's been 3 years since I've started trying to find a way of eating to suit me and my body.... I think I'm done now..please, let me done now.. I'm wrecked..
