Eating workout carbs?

Hey everybody,
I was just wondering - when you work out and "gain" more carbs, do you eat them? Or are you very strict with your x grams of carbs? Any reasoning?
Thanks for any input!

I try not to work out.
But if I did if it were a vigorous work out then I'd give myself some carb leeway to replenish some muscle glycogen. Nothing major though.
If not that intense (walking, etc) then my carb goal would be pretty much the same.
My reasoning being that low intensity exercise will be burning fat and not stored carbohydrate so extra isn't needed.
As an aside if I were to consume something carby as a treat (it happens ) then I'd try to do it around exercise generally to improve the chances of it the body using it effectively and to minimise the effects on blood sugar.0 -
mine usually do tend to vary with my amount of exercise. i have no set limit but try to keep them generally low. If you're doing high intensity cardio for long periods of time I'd suggest upping them for energy but the body can survive in ketosis either way.0

I do some intense workouts and still stay under 40gs.
It works for me!0 -
Thanks for the answers, everyone! They all make sense to me. (:
I didn't really think about it before, and recently noticed that working out does add carbs back. I enjoy doing a workout everyday, though I don't know if I'd call it super intense or anything.
Gotta go poke through my diary again and see how I have been handling eating them back. XD
If anyone has input on fat amounts, I'd appreciate that too.
I'm a bit confused on what amount of fat is good vs bad. I've read so many different opinions, it's enough to make my head spin. And it's easier for me to comprehend real advice from individuals than just articles. @_@ Almost all my fat intake comes from meats, olive oil, seeds, and cheese.
Any general input on fat intake would be appreciated if anyone has time. (:0 -
I am at least 65% fat by calories, the more the better for me (gut tolerance permitting, too much fat can be ... messy ... ).
If your fats are coming from natural sources then it's all good IMO. Saturated too, no worries for me.
I'll bow to anyone that can train well on very low carb, I just found my resistance training suffered a bit, everyone is different and all that0 -
Hmm, okay. I've currently got mine set to 30%.
Which I sometimes go over? But I get all paranoid that I shouldn't go over on it. XD
Protein is what gets me, it's a bit of a pain - because I don't eat red meat and hardly like white meat. ;/
So maybe I can up my fat percentage to try and smooth things out. :P
Thanks again, friend!0
