I've been on MFP calorie counting and lifting weights for 7 months and I haven't lost a single pound and my body shape is identical.

I am heading in tomorrow and getting my t4/t3 and looking forward to some progress.

All of the guys in my position on MFP and bodybuilding forums have been doing the same or less as me effort wise and their bodies look COMPLETELY different. They have muscle tone and lost fat. Me? Not a single bit of difference whatsoever.

Can't wait to get this thing solved.

Remember it takes about 30 days to start to see a difference with meds.

Good luck! I'm amazed that you've been able to do everything you have without your meds. My functioning completely plummets when my T3/T4 is out of whack. I think your hard work will pay off once your meds kick in and you'll eventually get to see that muscle that you've been building. It can take quite some time to find your proper dose, but you'll get there!

Not only do I have hypo, but my recent blood work came back and patterns show I have Cushing's Syndrome to boot. My AM cortisol is through the roof. No wonder my heart always feels like it's going to explode and I am always absolutely exhausted.

Don't be hard on yourself. It will take time to adjust all of your meds---a year is what my doc said and it was 8 mos. Sorry to hear about your new dx., but at least now you can move forward and get treated with the right medication and medical care. Take care and do something nice for yourself this week, you deserve it (not food, something you like as go to a base ball game or watch it with some buddies on T.V.)
  • Glad you got answers! You'll definitely start to feel better with the medication. I've been in your same position, I've even lost friends here because they thought I was cheating and lying on my logs! I'm shocked at how much better my body is functioning, and how much energy I have. Best of luck to you!
  • GoodLuck!! I've got my first set of blood work on the 5th of November to see if I need to have a higher dose or stick to what I'm on!

So far I've lost 6lbs and platued atm but that's because I cannot seriously exercise due to a damaged Meniscus (Used to do Zumba.

I don't know much about Hypothyroidism tbh though

My doctor TOLD me I don't exercise as much as I claim and I cheat and don't log it. I got pretty furious. At least now the problem is being solved.
