I upped my calories in July and yes it is disheartening gaining weight, I would be lying if I told you otherwise. But you have to watch all the other factors. I am learning that is a teeny tiny piece of progress. It just doesn't bother me so much anymore. I am much more concerned with correcting my metabolism, being strong, changing my body shape and changing my composition. I have been lifting heavy since July and started a 6 month rotation of STS on October 1st, I am halfway through Meso 1.
Some measurements ;
Chest ( round under your armpits ) down 2 inches
Bust down 2 and a half inches
Midriff ( around the bottom of your bra strap ) down 2 inches
Waist down 2 and a half inches
Hips down 5 inches!! :O
Thigh down 2 and a half inches
Above knee down 2 and a quarter inches
Calf down 1 and a quarter inches
Upper arm stayed the same ( I'm putting that down to bicep gains . )
Body fat down 6.8 % !!!!!!
Oh, and all that with the scale up by 11 pounds.
I know some of you will be reading this like wtf? I would have done a year ago too!!!!
I want you to know, it can be done. Even when the scale says it can't. Take pictures, measurements.
It isn't easy, I have to work damned hard at my workouts which are lifting 3 x a week and cardio 2-3 times a week ( kickboxing or HIIT on bike )
Have faith, believe, take the plunge!
For body fat down 6.8% and a loss of a total of 20 inches in 3 months, I will happily take the 11 pound gain :flowerforyou: :laugh:

Such amazing progress! You're doing awesome. I'm sure anyone who knows you would be totally amazed if you told them you'd GAINED 11 lbs. Superb results and proof that you can get the body you want by eating more and ignoring that scale, and getting healthier by decreasing your BF in the process. :drinker:0

Wow those measurement losses are huge! 5 inches off your hips!!?? Youve been busting your butt, and you dropped a lot of body fat...I would take a 11 lb gain too!! That is impressive!!0
