Does anyone eles's shins feel like crap???

I've been doing insanity now for 3 weeks, and my shins are hurting so bad. I'm pretty sure it's from the power jumps, because one day after doing them my shins felt like they were on fire. I was doing great the first week of Insanity, but come the second week, I felt like my legs had took a serious beating. I also do a couple of laps everyday and go to yoga twice a week at my college, and since I've been having this pain in my shins I feel like I can't even do simple things like walk up the stairs without feeling a sharp pain shooting down my shins. I even had to skip insanity this morning because the pain is just unbearable. I've tried to modify the workout a bit so that it doesn't put so much strain on my shins, but it seems like no matter what part of the workout I do, my shins feel like crap and it forces me to stop more often then I would like to. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to maybe speed up the healing process on my shins and to prevent hurting them again. I really want to stick to insanity, but I don't know if I will be able to if my shins keep hurting like this. And I was wondering has anyone else experienced this? Or is it just me :( ?

I'm only on day 2 of this, but my shins are definitely stiff to the point where I feel like I'm making a conscious effort to not look like I'm walking funny.

As a distance runner in high school, shin splints were more or less a part of life, and it sounds like that's what you have going on. The only prescription for that was to make sure to stretch as much as possible, and run more, your muscles would eventually get used to it (of course, that might have just been a coach trying to get the most out of his athletes). I'm not sure if that applies to your situation, since this is a bit more intense than distance running.

A google on shin splints stretches turned this up.

    Probably worth a shot.

The first week my knees hurt (not my shins) from all the jumping. I took an extra rest day and downed some ibuprofen, which helped. Just be very careful so you don't injure yourself!

You've definitely nailed it. The power jumps will kill them if you don't work up to it. Take it slow at first. As your legs and shins get stronger you will then be able to do it. You may need a couple days to recover first and if needed skip the jumps the first few workouts until you are completely healed.
You may also need some ibuprofen to eleviate the pain originally until you recover. Just don't overdo it.
