well, new to the boards, under a year into my diabetes diagnosis. we're still trying to get my sugars to go down- without insulin, i consistantly sit at 250-275. i've gotten the fasting down to between 100-110 with my long acting insulin, but i'm still getting used to the addition of a shorter acting insulin to my day to day.
suggestions? is there a way i can break my love affair with carbs - he's a bad boyfriend, just keeps hurting me...

I just had to decide what I wanted more...the carbs or being off my meds. Being off the meds won.
I had to go cold turkey off the starchy carbs and refined sugars for a month to get rid of the cravings. It worked. Now I severely limit the white carbs and sugar...my fasting BS readings average in the 90's. I still continue to take metformin but only by choice because it helps with weight loss. I try to keep my meals at no more than 45g carbs per meal (usually less) and my snacks to no more than 15g. It seems to be working.0
