I (found) my husband on the internet 8 years ago. I found him on a local dating sight that no longer exist. He lived 25 miles away from me, and once I got his phone # we just dated like normal people. I guess we are a success story !

I met my hubby on a BBS (local computer bulletin board) way back when the internet was new and strange. I had a 2500 baud dial up modem that was the latest and greatest.

My best friend and her younger brother made me sign up to the BBS so we could go into the chat rooms and trade insults because that was our favorite hobby. The ruder the better was our motto. (Yea we were mature...lol)

Anyway I started talking to this guy who was a really polite gentleman and I was impressed that he was a single dad raising his two sons. We met for lunch, married four months later, and this February will be celebrating our 20 year anniversary.

Met my boyfriend on POF dating site..met for coffee almost two years ago and we have been together ever since. We are very happy and have a great relationship. He was the first and only guy i met on the site. I was only on there 5 mins. before we started to chat. He told me then that I might as well give up looking cause I met the best guy on there..lol We met the following day, we hit it off instantly. The rest is history. I am thankful everyday that i signed up on there even if my membership only lasted for a few minutes..lol

That is a great story. I have not been having much luck.

I found it to be a horrible experience. I know several people who have found people online and gotten married and are very happy though. It's just not for me.

My BFF, recently single, signed up for this one particular site. She was only getting messages from married men that wanted to meet at lunch time and she couldn't figure out why. Then she checked her profile and realized she accidentally entered herself as "Male". Whoo boy we had some laughs over that one.

sadly no,,,,,,i met some crazies,,,,,,,but i hear good stories all the time!, it takes time and patience,, and you have to really click with someone.some times when you have the same interests, that is not the way to go,,,,oh who knows!, here i am babbling about it!

I met quite a few great guys online but the timing was off for one or both of us.. THEN there was the one bad experience (PLEASE listen to any little doubt your brain has no matter how dumb it seems at the time) and I told myself I'd never date anyone who I (or someone I trusted/knew for a long time) didn't know for at least 3 years.... Ended up starting to date my (now - going on 9 years) hubby soon there after -- I knew him and his family (both somewhat) for about 8 years when my best friend got together w/his brother (they've been married about 15 years now)..

Again -- PLEASE PLEASE listen to any little/minor nagging doubt your brain says!!!!!

I had many bad experiences with dating online....the bad ones definitely outweighed the good ones..don't think I will ever do it again...even picked up a few stalkers that I had a hard time getting rid of...sadly, I really don't know how I would meet anyone unless it's a "fix up". I live alone in a neighborhood with a lot of retirees and i work alone. That's great if other ladies had good experiences..for me, personally, I would not recommend it to anyone.
Oh well, que sera sera....

My wife and I met via Match. We dated for three years, were engaged for a year, and have now been married for a year. We sometimes joke that we should volunteer to be in one of their commercials, because the fairytales that they portray really do come true for some. :-)
