For those training today, don't forget to copy the exercise session from my profile. The calories are approximate, but indicative of the type of work we were performing.
The pyramid system is a great method of starting with just a few reps to learn perfect form and gradually building up. When it starts to get really challenging, you're sliding down the other side of the pyramid and it gets a little easier.
This pyramid session is a good all round workout with local muscular endurance work for your upper body, legs, abs and plenty of core stabilization moves thrown in. Intersperse this with the stair runs and your heart rate will remain high for the whole session, burning plenty of calories and pushing your fitness levels.
From a trainer's point of view, this is a great session to check on everyone's form and ensure each exercise is carried out correctly to maximum benefit.
