So I purchased the base ChaLean Extreme kit and I just started Lean Phase yesterday. I would like your opinions on the deluxe upgrade kit. I can't decide whether to order or just use all my other DVD's as well as ChaLean going forward.
Fat-Burn Challenge
Get-Lean Intervals
I've Got Abs!
NEW! Lower Body Extreme Zone
NEW! Extreme Core Circuit
NEW! Extreme Intervals
NEW! Dynamic Flow Yoga

Here is some of what I currently have:
Jillian Michaels; BFBM, NMTZ, 6 week 6 pack, 30 day Shred, yoga meltdown
Bob Harper; BL boot camp, Pure Burn Super Strength, Yoga for the Warrior
Lauren Brooks; Ultimate body sculpt & conditioning w/kettlebells volume 1 & 2

Replies

  • I'm sorry, I don't know how good the upgrade kit is, but I saw your post and was curious about some of the other videos that you own. Is Bob Harper's Pure Burn Super Strength DVD good? I tend to like his cardio stuff. Also, are Lauren Brooks's DVDs decent?

At the moment I've been mixing the Chalean extreme Burn videos (I haven't gotten to the Push or Lean ones yet) with the Brazil Butt Lift strength DVDs (Sculpt and High & Tight). I'd like a few other to complement that selection though.

    Edit: terrible grammar

Oh my gosh, Bob' pure burn super strength literally brought me to tears the first time. I think it's amazing! He is fierce in this DVD. I find I want to push myself as hard as the 3 in the DVD like he's in my living room watching & I don't want to disappoint him.
I also really do like Lauren's kettlebells. I'm looking forward to incorporating the kettlebells back into my routine. Definitely gets my heart rate up and she's big on proper form.

Hi! I had this question about a month ago and I don't think many people have tried it. I did purchase the deluxe upgrade so that I could use something a little different in the Lean phase (and I just finished this phase on Saturday).

I substituted Get Lean Invervals and Fat Burn Challenge for Burn Intervals and Burn it off in this last month. While I actually love both of these workouts, and was happy to have something different this past month, I'm not sure if's entirely necessary, unless you have a little extra money and just need something a bit different--they are very similar to the other 2.

I actually hated I've Got Abs--although maybe that's just because it was super-hard--but that one had a lot of push up and plank type exercises and I found they really killed during the Lean phase, because you were doing a lot of pushups in the actual Lean work outs---so I only did this one once.

I did the lower body workout as well--it was good. Most of the exercises were ones in the regular CLX workouts, just pulled into this one workout--there was no cardio. Lots of squats and lunges and such.

I haven't tried the other core or yoga ones yet but plan to mix them in whenever I can--I just didn't really have room for them in the actual program and need to mix them in some other time.

So, I think if you wanted variety and did not want to purchase anything, you could definitely use BFBM...I'm not sure about the rest you mentioned. The upgrade set is great--but certainly not necessary if you don't want to spend the $$

Robin1117 thanks for reviews! You aren't the only one I've seen that didn't like the ab routines.
