has any one used this product? where did you find it? Is it the same as xantham gum? Are there any other thickeners that you would recomend? Any ideas would be great, I am trying to convert a few of my recipies to low carb. thanks

I used to use it and buy it from netriton.com but the last couple times I looked they didn't have any, and I have a feeling it's a discontinued product.
I use xantham gum now which truthfully, I find easier to use. I usually make gravies and sauces (I made awesome turkey gravy with it last night), but other people might have other ideas. The only trick with the xantham gum is I put a small amount in a jar with a little of whatever liquid I'll be using in the recipe, shake the heck out of it and then add it to the rest of the recipe and heat to thicken. When I used the thicken/thin I found if you added it to the hot recipe straight out, it would clump..same with the xantham0 -
Yes, I used to correspond with the woman who formulated it.
She was/is quite the food technologist.
I find that a little bit of glucomannan powder works well and doesn't clump up as much as xanthum gum.0 -
If you can't find it, some of the other thickeners are easier to use in a salt shaker, so you only add a little at a time.0
