Encouragement to push through

Hi, I started this after YEARS of VLCD. I started my reset partially at the beginning of last month, and went into full TDEE about 5 weeks ago. First of all, I have way more energy - and food is becoming less of an issue with me. I have changed my desires in my mind from being svelte and thin to being strong. I'm eating at macros as much as possible (if anything I tend to be too low on carbs), and if I have any room to spare, I don't begrudge myself some ice cream or something else. Moderation. My mood has improved, too. However, I started to feel discouraged this weekend and wanted to stop the reset and go to cut... though I committed to a full eight weeks. All of the other benefits are wonderful - and I can now do 25 "boy" push ups... however, I feel like an athlete trapped in a fat suit. As I have put the scale away - I don't know where I am there. I have been measuring (with -1 on waist and +1 on booty (always get big here no matter what) - .5 on thighs). I tried on a pair of pants that were slightly loose when I started EM2WL, and they are just as loose if not more. I'm finding that the fit of clothes, more than measurements, fueled my desire to keep going. This is not a quick fix. It's true. But I do feel stronger, healthier, and more tone. I also feel like I am setting a good example for my daughters in that they will not see starving as an option for weight loss. My oldest daughter (15) is even doing New Rules with me! Keep going. Persevere!!

Blessings!

"Athlete in a fat suit" THAT IS ME. SERIOUSLY. It stinks. I feel you.

I started my MFP journey because the fit of my clothes was getting worse. I think, like you, that's fueling my progress. Also, I got a kick in the pants (motivation wise) when I picked up a copy of Muscle & Fitness Hers at the grocery store. A lot of the models I DIDN'T want to look like, but there were a few in there that weren't bulky, just toned. That's my new motivation to push through.
