carb overload

I was eating really good for months. I really watched how much bread, pasta, etc. that I ate. Three weeks ago I started to eat like crap and now can't stop. And I want carbs. Does anyone know that is I cut it out of my diet, and now I can't get enough of them is it because I was depriving myself or what is up with it. Every morning I say today is going to be a new day and by noon same old thing. I gained back my 10 pounds plus 3 more. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Were you doing a very low carb diet? Personally I'm more a fan of everything in moderation because I think deprivation can only be sustained so long before we crack and must have that specific food.0

Yeah like the only carb were fruit and vegies and maybe a couple of pieces of bread a week.0

I would agree everything in moderation, then you don't feel deprived0

Like the others, everything in moderation. I have been working hard to cut back on my carbs a bit, but that basically means if Im having pasta, Im not having bread as well... or if I have potato, there is no bread either, sort of thing. My carb choices are all healthy choices, whole grains and fruits and I try to limit the junk ones..0

Could that be the reason I want it so bad? or is there another reason0

Your diary isn't open so I don't know how much you're eating, but in my experience I used to get cravings for certain things when my body was deprived of energy and nutrients. I was starving myself and as a result my body was fighting back and wanted me to eat large quantities of fatty and carb-laden sugary foods just to get some energy into myself.
Since I've been feeding myself with a decent amount of calories I no longer have strong cravings to eat these foods. And when I do fancy a treat a small amount will usually satisfy the urge.
As I say I can't see your diary so I don't know how much you're eating but my immediate reaction would be that it's a sign you're not eating enough.0 -
I have not been writing it down for 3 weeks. But today I am and it is day 1. I have actually workout as well.0

Many people on here will tell you they do 40carb 30protein 30fat. You need carbs to fuel your workouts. Balance is important! I have a hard time working carbs in for some reason... that is where I am usually low... fat is usually high (hallloooo peanut butter!). The other day I was really too low on my carb intake... and boy did I feel it in my workout. Ugh. Good luck!0

I recommend paying attention to your fat intake as well...I find that when I don't get enough fat in my diet I crave sugar. Also no need to cut carbs out entirely, just switch to the right kind. Whole wheat, oatmeal, quinoa are all 'good' types of carbs.0

Thanks. I don't watch that close but will start. I always really just watch so I eat enough protein.0 -
I bet protein intake is low. Try shooting for 30 % protein and the rest will fall in place.0
