Just bought a "real" bike and need to purchase a pair of padded shorts for long distances. The seat is a gel seat and is comfortable up to 10 miles. Can anyone make a recommendation?

    Pearl Izumi is the only pair I buy. They come in various padding options. Some are more for distance biking (the most expensive and thickly padded) and some are for spin class use (thin padding). They're expensive, but worth it if you're spinning a lot. I've biked for many MANY years, so I hope this helps.

    Thanks for the info. I actually bought a pair of Pearl Izumi shorts a few weeks ago after doing research. Plan to try them out this weekend, weather permitting.
