What do you all think of carb blockers for the occasional day off a low carb diet... Say once a week/two?
Has anyone tried them, and if so do they work? Are they safe :/

P.S add me if your doing low carb too :)

All the carb blockers I've ever seen have pretty dodgy ingredients (if any are listed at all).

A lot of these pills come from pretty unregulated industries, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole :)

"Starch blockers are dietary supplements, not prescription drugs. Since they don't go through the FDA's drug approval process, the FDA has not signed off on whether starch blockers -- or any other supplements -- are safe, effective, or contain what the label says is in the bottle."

"Starch blockers probably do allow complex carbohydrates to pass through the small intestine largely undigested, says Christine Gerbstadt, MD, RD, an American Dietetic Association spokeswoman.

“But when they get to the large intestine, the starches ferment, give off gas, and cause bloating and diarrhea,”

I usually feel like dirt if I cheat and eat something higher in carbs anyhow. As much fun as bloating and the runs are... I'd pass.

If you feel the need to cheat that often, maybe you need to rethink your diet plan and choose something that allows you more daily carbs, or cheat every now and then and deal with it. There is no magic pill to make you less accountable for what you eat.

I don't like "carb cheating". I always feel like total crap-o-la.
I don't mind overdoing calories somedays, but ugh a large amount of carbs really gets me.
I wouldn't take a pill like that either way.

    Nothing to judge.

I made my best friend (who I live with)'s child marshmallow fudge. I don't like marshmallows. Turns out in fudge.. I do.

I had a piece the day I made it. Bad in cals and carbs.. but not as bad as I'd have thought. Made room in my carb and calorie count for 1/2 piece every day or so.
