Hey guys and gals. I am new to EM2WL and have adopted the vegan lifestyle. I have never felt better in my life, but am running into a major problem...NOT ENOUGH PROTEIN. I love to eat, and I love working out and even do incorporate some weight training into my regimen (although I do not lift heavy...at least not yet). I would love some vegan friends and dietary ideas so that I can remain healthy without consuming animal proteins. I am not ready to give up on veganism just yet, but I can almost see the body of my dreams right around the corner. Please help!!!!:indifferent:

Hi there
There are a few of vegans on here doing EM2WL. I'm veggie and was previously leaning towards veganism but since following this way of life I have become much more dependent on dairy to get my protein in so I'm not sure I'll be much help but it is doable.
For non-dairy protein sources, I eat nuts and seeds, tofu, seitan, soya 'meat' products, soya milk, almond milk and beans to get my protein. There are also increasing amounts of non-dairy protein powders coming out on the markets. I currently have some pea protein which is vegan friendly. which I add to oats for breakfast. I've also seen recently someone using pea protein to make a spread/dip like hummous. There are also vegan friendly spirulina, soy and rice protein powders available so if you wanted to go down that route I guess it's a case of finding one you like. Even as a veggie I am using a couple of protein shakes a day to get a decent amount of protein in but am now usually getting around 150 grams per day.
Hope this helps.0 -
I eat mostly vegan due to severe lactose intolerance. I get my protein from grains, beans, maybe one soy product a day, nuts, vegan sausage, brewer's yeast, and vega protein powder in bars I order online. It's actually not as hard to get protein in as long as you make sure that you get at least 20g per meal. Feel free to friend me and check out my diary! (Though I would ignore last Sunday on back since I was in a show and eating what was available, ie MEAT. :ohwell: )0
