    1. exercise more that day
    2. plan ahead...eat small low-cal meals that day (don't starve yourself before hand)
    3. water water water! keep a glass in your hand the whole time
    4. portion control...eat what you want in small portions.

I also enter my foods in MFP app before I eat them..so I can see my running total in black and white. ( this causes eye rolling in my husband!)

Someone posted this on my wall! -- "Since I'm not a part of your group I wasn't able to post a response but here are my suggestions: eat before you go so you are full not hungry while attending the party, exercise extra that day and in the days leading up to the party, don't have your conversation by the food table as that will lead to nibbling constantly while chatting. allow yourself a couple reasonable treats so you can satisfy your craving without going overboard, eat extra healthy during the week leading up to the party, have someone hold you accountable to your goals while at the party so you feel eyes watching you ;) "

    My 4 ideas!

    1. Exercise earlier in the day to help offset!
    2. Bring your own dish so you have at least one choice that you know all the ingredients.
    3. Drink Water
    4. Don't come to the party on an empty stomach!

Eat something before going so that you don't devour everything in sight.
Exercise early in the day to offset some of your calories.
Avoid drinking alcohol during the party. (I always give away my drink tickets)
I eat lightly throughout the week and get in some extra exercise so that if I do indulge at the party I'll have balance.
  • 1- Eat before you go.
2- Have 1 plate with small amounts of what you most want to try.
3- limit alcohol to 1 glass
4- Have a great workout earlier in the day to offset calories.

That being said, I am only going to 1 holiday party this year (my own, that I am hosting). Since its only 1 party, I plan to just have a good workout earlier in the day, and then enjoy the party and have whatever I want.
