When I read Yoovie's post, I hoped that no one believed all of it but I do recall all of those opinions being expressed on this board.
Which is why, despite the fact that I like to post here and get everyone's opinions, you shouldn't believe everything said by perfect strangers on the internet.
And you certainly shouldn't let their disrespectful or damaging words impact how you feel about yourself.

I never said I believed it, im just tired of having to pass through it every time we have a discussion that could go so much further, about so many things, on so many levels, if we didnt hit snag of the girl-haters wreaking havoc and preventing conversation evolution.
Im sorry I opened my mouth and said what Im tired of reading when I catch up on everything you all say at the end of each week. No I didnt post the good stuff, cause the good stuff doesnt bother me.
Now Im leaving.
Yall have fun and please pretend I was never in this group, which includes bringing me up by name, as that's just common courtesy since I also dont throw names around.

Yoovie, Please do not go!!! I'm not certain how to be any more clear about this, but there are a small number of people who say the exact things you quoted in the other thread. That is fact. And it is rude and often tiresome. However, the majority of us agree with you that conversation would be better and more useful if we got past that superficiality. I personally think you bring a great dynamic to the group and really hope you stay.0

Personally I thought Yoovie did an excellent, if not very slanted, job of summing November up.
I suppose the difference for me is that I don't actually believe, care about or buy into anything here I read that I don't personally agree with. "Single Peeps!" is hardly dating gospel. Let's be perfectly honest, we are just a bunch of men and women randomly amassed who are in varying states of singledom, with individual ages, experiences and thoughts on how to not only date, but approach and go through every aspect life.
So who cares? Big picture.. you (collectively) are something that amuses me during a boring work day, a place where I can offer an opinion, creep someone else's love life in a non-FB type way, and watch (or start!) some comical debates play out. Once in a while I even learn something and/or think about something in a new light. I even like a bunch of you too!!
But never do you have massive impact on my self esteem, self worth or how I think of myself as a woman. If for a moment I thought that this group would have that type of negative impact on me.. I'd leave.
At the end of the day.. my own personal response to what is said here is going to dictate how much fun I have...and I personally have a lot more fun taking everything with a grain of salt and seeing it for exactly what it is. Nothing more, nothing less.0 -

I never understood why so people get so bent out of shape over someones opinion on a forum. Someone asks a question.. a bunch of people chime in with their opinion. It's pretty easy. Castadiva has provided some intelligent rebuts to my opinions and I like that. Even though Castadiva is my EXACT antithesis.. I like when she posts. Others have responded much differently.
Though most fighting on this forum looks like this.

But I disagree that he was trying to "pat things down". He was good enough to compliment castadiva on being awesome (Because she is) but then basically said everyone else is either a kid yelling at a donkey, or a donkey yelling at a kid (words + pic = where I get my interpretation).
That annoyed me so I went for a more sarcastic approach, since clearly my serious calm, serious angry, and funny calm approaches weren't working. I just went for fun all around!0 -

Sorry for the drama,have no idea if Yoovie has removed herself from the group but there were things asserted that were simply not true and also not an isolated moment.
I have not banned her and have nointentions to do so but do not care if she elects to post either.
In the same vein I tried to be nice (yeah I know,a curse) but Mike you need to really look at what you are writing here several times before you post.

To be fair though, I think Mike could gain a lot of credibility by being smarter in his word choice. It's not about being PC or G rated and holding hands and singing - I have a lot of friends that debate with me all the time and by the end we shake hands and agree to disagree - but that only happens when one of us isn't trying to be as offensive as possible. There's something to be said for rational discourse. At this point the credibility of Mike is at an all time low, when he posts something people roll their eyes and go "Mike being Mike" instead of actually getting something from what he posts. I realize I have people that do that to my posts as well (I see the jabs from people that make fun of my stance on equality and individuality), but at least people know that I believe what I say and I'm not just doing it to get a rise.0 -
