sunday lunch invite - I'm now panicking!

Hi there, I've been invited out for lunch tomorrow and I'm in such a spin I don't know what to do - would appriciate any and all advice please.
My friend is a fantastic cook and therefore sunday lunch will most defiately be a starter, roast dinner with all the trimmings (roast potatoes, yorkshire puddings etc etc) cheese course, dessert (last time she did 4!!!!)
I'm looking forward to going, but don't want to pile on the pounds as my very first weigh in is the following morning.
Yesterday I cut out 300cals of my daily allowance and was thinking of doing something similar today, do you think that will help to balance out any excess calories I may ingest?
Also advice on saying 'no' politely to seconds etc etc, I've over a 100lb to lose so it's pretty obvious I need to lose weight, but I don't want them to know I'm dieting - if you know what I mean?
I know I'll come up against pressure's like this all the way, I just thought I could get a couple of weeks dieting under my belt first!
thanks in advance

I think saving up calories for a few days is a great idea. I think the biggest concern would be if you will be able to handle it mentally. Like can you restart easily the next day? I'm with you on getting a couple of weeks in first. That really helps a lot when you get into a mode. Then it becomes easier to resist. If you think that if you can be fine the next day, then by all means go, try to eat a moderate amount, and if people try to push more food on you, I always do the "I would love some more but my stomach has been acting up lately so I'd better not overdo it" if I don't want them to know I'm dieting. Also, maybe make it your lunch/dinner so you have extra calories to work with.0

Thankyou that sounds like some good advice. I'll just say my gall stones are playing up and then the rest is down to me and my willpower.0

You're welcome
Gall Stones are a great excuse!

Personally, if I know I have a big day coming up, I cut out a few calories, and make sure to do a good workout before and after. Also, perhaps load up on the veggies and healthier options while leaving only a little room for the unhealthy things-- assuming you are making your own plate. It'll still make your plate look full, fill you up, and maybe make it easier to say no to the more tempting options. Have a good time!
Oh, and for the politely refusing, my friends all know I am dieting, but I sometimes go with the "oh man, i am so full! that was absolutely delicious" routine0 -
