I would suggest not weighing every day unless you need to for a medical reason. Weight fluctuates daily and within the day. If you haven't done the TDEE calculator on scooby, you may want to do that to be sure you are not undereating or going over your calories. :glasses:

I'm 5 weeks into stage 1. I have been using the scooby calculations instead of what the book says. I also run on my off days. I haven't gained any weight, but my weight loss has stalled. You're muscles retain water when you are sore, so that could have a lot to do with the fluctuations. I've heard that after your body gets used to the exercises, and the soreness goes down that usually evens out. How long have you been at it? If it's been awhile I would suggest switching to scooby, if it's only been a few weeks I would say wait it out for a few more weeks.

Personally, the book calculation was very close to the scooby calculation for me, just check it out and see how much the numbers even differ.

I finished the program about a month ago and my weight regularly fluctuated by up to four pounds during the entire time and I did not lose any weight (I'm also quite close to my goal weight so not a real big deal, I would guess you are too from your stats). I did do extra cardio as well. Did you lift yesterday? Could just be water weight, I would agree that you probably shouldn't weight every day if its going to bother you to see the fluctuation.

I would also say check scooby and see how far off it is. I didn't notice how little you had to lose. You probably won't lose any weight. On the upside, your body composition will change, and the number probably won't matter so much. Also if you haven't, take pictures and measurements. That will be your real indicator of how you are doing. Don't worry about the scale weight. :flowerforyou:

Keep in mind, you are building muscle, and retaining water. It is hard to lose weight while strength training. It is best to wait for your rest week at the end of each stage, give yourself a few days of good eating, low salt, no weights, away from TOM and then take your measurements and weight.. you will get a better idea of where you are.

Based on your ticker, you want to lose about 5 pounds or so? You may need to change your line of thinking away from what the scale says and focus on the tape measure. You will likely end up changing your body comp over losing that 5 pounds. Your body might end up holding that 5 and change it into muscle... while its still 5 pounds muscle is smaller and therefore will make you outwardly look smaller and thinner..
So keep that in mind as you progress. take tape measurements over the scale...

Good luck! I finished the program about a month ago. It was a great place to start and got me into weight training:)
