Ok, so I've started this thing a zillion times. Life gets in the way. UGH! HELP me stay with it. I work from home, by 745 the husband is out the door with kids to school and I SHOULD use that time to do it, but I find myself coming to the computer and working.

I don't know if this will help motivate you or not, but out of all the lifestyle changes I have made in the last year and a half, including losing the weight, changing the way I eat and the way I think about eating, getting in shape, etc. - going through and completing the c25k program has by far been the most rewarding and my favorite thing!
Now, I did cross country and track (discus and javelin) in high school, and HATED the running aspects of it. I joined XC solely because of the wonderful people on the team, and I was a thrower in track and only ran practices out of necessity. Looking back on it, it was at least 75% mental. I definitely was capable of being a decent runner, but I had convinced myself that I "wasn't built to be a runner" or "I'll never be as good as the other girls so why put so much effort" or "these cramps aren't normal and so I can't or shouldn't run too hard". FALSEFALSEFALSE!
Now I am an adult, and for once I am doing this for ME and not for anyone else. I am not comparing myself to anyone, and I am giving it 100%, and I am seeing steady improvements, which is so gratifying! The first couple weeks of c25k were a mental and physical battle, but I can't tell you enough how worth it it is. Since completing the program at the end of August, I made a promise to myself to sign up for at least one 5k a month to keep myself active and motivated, and it's working! I have run three 5ks so far (one of them was a Zombie Obstacle mud run!) and I am doing my 4th tomorrow, and another in two weeks.
I might not be the strongest or the fastest or the leanest runner out there, but it's empowering to not care about that and give it my best all the same so I urge you to give it a shot, and stick with it. You'll thank me!0 -
Stay away from the computer in the morning and head out the door. For me, one of the most appealing aspects of the program is that it only requires around 30 minutes three times a week. Sure you have to get dressed and stretch but that is still less than an hour of your day.
I have never been a runner. Each time I go out and begin the running portion of the workout I ask myself why I'm doing it. But by the end of the workout I'm happy and even adding some running time.
Ultimately, no one can push you as much as you can push yourself but feel free to add me and I'll nag at you. I mean push you.0
