Should I ask to go on Metformin?

Hi guys, I have been on birth control pills for about 3 in a half years now since I was diagnosed with PCOS. Some of my issues have gotten somewhat better as far as the hair loss and hair in unwanted areas goes, but my skin issues are bad lately. I read on a few forms that Metformin has helped a few women with this issue. I am seeing a dermatologist about the issues this Monday and I was just wondering if I should even bring up the name Metformin? I am really just starting to get at my wits end, I tend to get overly-emotional but I just can't help myself. Does anyone have any advice to give me..?
