The walk about! During the holidays we all seem to have many errands to run. Sometimes all of the extra chores get in the way of working out and eating right. This week take the walk the walk extra challenge and park further away than normal, take the steps when you can, and find any way you can get a few extra steps in. The experts say we should walk at LEAST 10,000 steps a day. How many are you currently walking? and how many can you add this week?

I have the Fitbit zip that tracks my steps. I have my goal set at 12,000/day (that's 5 miles). I usually make my goal (except yesterday I only did 3787, but made up for it with other exercise). It tracks Sunday-Sunday, so I'll check back in next week with my stats!

Disclaimer- I don't work for the company or anything, but I highly recommend the Fitbit. It really made me aware of how sedentary I was. I work from home, and even though I thought I was getting enough exercise/movement before I got it, I realized I wasn't. Now that I'm trying to reach that 5 mile goal (or over) daily, it forces me to go on my walks, etc. I also feel better on the days I'm most active. :)

walking---I need to do this more! I am good about getting execise in the AM's---love my dancing or aerobics...no issues. I keep saying I will walk at night, hubby walks the dogs at 930 PM. It just seems so late and i have no desire to do anything but veg after work. I will try to pick my sorry butt off the couch and walk---maybe I can get him to go a little earlier.

The fit bit sounds like a good idea, I do not use anything at all. Today I was wondering about a heart rate monitor, but I dont think I really need one.
