I don't know why, but it's a sad article. I understand her reluctance to accept congratulations for her weight loss, but it almost sounds as if the author isn't even happy for herself and her own progress. That being said, I agree with the fact that I can't stand the snarky comments you see on here all the time about surgery & "fad" diets. Each person's road to success is different, and there's more criticism than motivation on here sometimes...
