Keto Suggestions

So my girlfriend and I have decided to try out the ketogenic diet. She and I are not too overweight (myself more than her). For our stats...
Myself
200.8lbs -- 33.2% fat -- 5'9 Male
Her
126lbs -- 31% fat -- 5'3
She is at a pretty good weight, but has a slight gut that she wants to get rid of lol.
Anyways, off to the diet. I've been trying to figure out ways to eat on a ketogenic diet for people who do NOT enjoy cooking at all. I'm not the type of person to cook "salmon" or make special dishes, nor could I afford these things. I'm seeking information for easy meals. We've almost always been doing fast food for a long time (which is probably the reason I gained 20lbs). As of now my diet would like this...
Breakfast: 2 eggs, Sausage or Bacon, Cheese, a sip of milk.
Lunch: Buddig 90 calorie deli meats, a handful of peanuts
Dinner: Hot dogs (great value low carb... about 3g a piece) with honey mustard or ketchup and cheese.
Snacks: Usually nuts, Though I'm not sure what else would be a good source of fat
PS. This isn't everyday, for instance today I had a Tuna Salad from Subway and a sugar free Redbull.
Any suggestions? I've lost 30lbs with this same diet in the past (just a tad more calorie restrictive).

I would cut out the processed stuff like hotdogs and deli meat, or at least restrict them. Generally, cooking is simply something you'll have to get used to. It doesn't take much though. Get something like chicken thighs or drumsticks, coat them in olive oil and apply your favorite seasonings (I do this in a ziploc bag and it comes out amazing everytime). Bake until done like a BOSS! As long as the milk is a sip, you should be fine as long as it doesn't go over your carb macros. I also like to buy the great value hamburger patties as well. Ground beef is good, and after 5pm most days walmart marks down all of their meat and places a yellow label on them with the new price (depending on your area as I'm in Georgia). I often come out with thin cut pork tenderloin/chops for less than 5 bucks and can eat on that for a couple days. A good cheap roast and a crock pot can have you feeling like a five star chef in no time as well. There are some great recipes for dry rubs to keep things interesting. Good luck!0

Crock pot? lol I can barely boil water. I can cook eggs... tis the extent of my cooking abilities.
And actually, I just bought the "Egg-Wave" from walmart, fricken brilliant I say! Any other suggestions from peeps?0 -
How's the GF's cooking skills?
I was keto for 6 months while in a heavy workload college program.. fell off the wagon and have been back on for a month.
Originally I was making or packing things will less effort I was darn busy. Babybel cheeses. Pepperettes (watch not all are created carb equal), pork rinds and varying LC dips.
This time around I have more time.. I could always cook. I cook better now. To make the most of a ketogenic diet you really do need to cook some.

Are where many of my ideas come from these days. You need to experiment. Crockpots can be a super easy way to introduce yourself to cooking.0 -
My girlfriend is worse than I am lol. You know what I'm good at cooking? Bread, cookies, brownies and pie!
Everything that I can't have lol0 -
I just checked out yourlighterside.com. My god, this may be our bible! That website has some tasty looking stuff on it!0

Learn, or hire a personal chef. Otherwise your are doomed to eating junk because there is very little in a grocery store that is not on the perimeter (ie produce, meat, fish, dairy, departments) of the store that is low carb friendly.0 -
Youtube is full of diy videos on how to cook different things, figure out what you want to cook and let google be your guide It's how I learned to finally make a good omelet instead of always making them scrambled lol.0

The grill has been my best friend on Keto. So easy! I buy good quality frozen ground beef patties, chicken (whatever is on sale usually quarters/aka dark meat), quality sausages, fish does grill well. Grill extra for lunch the next day.
Homemade or a good quality Italian dressing (read labels look at sugars esp. ) can be your best friend as a quick marinade for chicken and fish especially
Premixed seasonings like Mrs Dash or McCormicks (read labels some have sugar and MSG) have some great herb and spices blends that take the guess work out of seasoning foods. I also use an MSG free Seasoned salt on just about everything too.
You can also grill some of your lower carb veggies on here like asparagus, zucchini (tossed in olive oil with a little all season salt)
Pre Bagged baby spinach, arugula, romaine lettuce or shredded cabbage are the best and easiest for getting your veggies in. (All can be eaten raw steam-even the micro works for this or sauteed with a little butter or oil)
Good Oils are your best friend on Keto. Good extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, hemp oil, flax oil are a few of the best.
If you can fry an egg you can do just about anything above.0 -
Keto is great, but it alone won't make the fat just melt off. The idea behind Keto is to get the hormones under control so your appetite is reduced and you're better satiated. Once you're rocking that Keto and you're feeling good, start creating your deficit by either counting calories, OR, consider intermittent fasting.

I'd forgo the ketchup as it's mostly high fructose corn syrup these days, ugh.
I travel lots, so I have to get creative when it comes to ketogenic eating. If I have a fridge and microwave, I'll get bacon and eggs, which you can microwave. A carton of heavy whipping cream is great to have around, I use it in the scrambled microwave eggs and in my iced decaf- way cheaper than you know who's coffee.
It was smart of me to order pizza, wings and artichoke dip from a local pizza place. I've had 6 meals off my $57. I ask for extra cheese on the pizza then pull all the toppings off and throw away the crust.0 -
