Question about TDEE

I'm sorry if this question has been answered before but it's the main part of EM2WL that really confuses me.

My TDEE if I were sedentary is 1,700 (approximately). My TDEE with my workouts is 2,200. Now, I know for a fact that I rarely burn 500 calories daily during my workouts.

So should I just try to NET 1,700 by eating back the amount of exercise calories that I actually burned? Or does the 2,200 take more factors into account than just calories burned via exercise?

I hope this makes sense!

TDEE includes all of your activity for organ function, sleeping, awake, sitting around watching t.v., doing laundry, working, and exercising, all of your energy expenditure for the entire day. However, keep in mind the calculators are an estimate. If you have children or a job, even if it is a desk job, you probably are not sedentary. Lightly active is what I choose and I sit at a desk 8 hours a day.

You can use a tweener factor number of 1.35 which is between Sedentary and Lightly Active to multiply your BMR to get your TDEE. Then cut your 15 or 20% from that to get your net daily calorie goal.
