GALLBLADDER, what were your symptoms, removed?

I think i'm having gb symptoms. Just wondering what i should expect.

    My gb was removed 3 years before I had RNY, so I don't know if symptoms are the same after a surgery as they would be before. My symptoms were severe pain in the upper abdominal area that radiated around to the upper back. At times it felt like I was having a heart attack and, at times, there was nausea and vomiting. The gall bladder surgery was probably the worst surgery I ever had, even though it was laparascopic. Could be because I had a surgeon who was just out of school, but it took a very long time to recover. (I have had 7 surgeries.) Remember, though, that everyone is different. Hope everything works out well for you!

    OK, not having those symptoms yet, just a small amount of pain in abd and chalky stools.

    I had weight loss surgery in July this year . And i had kidney stones in October and Gallbladder surgery in November. I just had a lot of pain in my stomach. And my enzymes (not sure how to spell that) were high when they did my blood work. So Dr said nn to get it removed soon. I said just do it now since I have my deductable paid for the yea. :smile:

    I had my GB removed 3 months after my RNY. I was having pain in the upper abdomen midling toward the right...sometimes radiating around my side...especially after eating something with fat in it. I understand it is not unusual to have GB issues after WLS>

    I cant get my GP to refer me, Ive had gastritis and abdo pain for some 15 months, as well as gall stones etc

    My gallbladder was removed 2 years ago after I lost weight on a doctor supervised weight loss program. I ended up in the ER after projectile vomiting for an hour. At that point I had done all of the tests, seen the specialists, and everything else that they wanted me to do including an endoscopy and the ER doctor took one look at me and said "Why do you still have a gallbladder?" My response, "My surgical appointment is in 2 days!"

    I had horrible pain, sharp and hot in the upper center of my right side. Felt like I had a hot poker through my body. It cramped, and then subsided, hurt worse when I sat, so I had to stretch out a lot, and even on good days, felt like a tight knot of something stuck. I agree with awyatt69 who said that it was the worst surgery! So far, recovering from bypass is a breeze compared to that!

    My WLS is in early February and my surgeon is recommending that I have my gall bladder removed during the same procedure because a recent CT scan showed numerous stones already. Has anyone had this done? I would appreciate hearing about it.
