Self control over Xmas period!

So I've got my first festive event on Saturday, I have the girls coming round for food and drinks, I've been to the shops and bought LOADS for a mouth watering buffet and looking for any tips you guys have on not over indulging? I'm planning to stick to vodka diet cokes (I'm normally a fruit cider girl so that's a big calorie reduction for me) also planning to have a bowl of home made healthy soup before I have any buffet food and planning to make the girls take the leftovers home with them but I know I will deffo be sampling the spread as I was practically drooling just putting them into my trolley haha! Have any of you guys been in similar situations and how did you manage? Xx

Good question~try to stay away from the appetizers, eating something before is good, extra cardio but also small portions. I did really good in thanksgiving, the holiday parties are what I want to get control over.0

what she said ^^^ have a little something to eat prior to going that way you dont feel you are starving and overeat. If you do appetizers I would stick to the veggie platters minus all the dips. Im nervous about Xmas because I always make lots of goodies for my fam. Im not too worried about holiday parties as I work graveyards so all the day time shifts normally gobble up all the goods before I even get to work lol.0

eating slow also helps, and a glass of water just before you tuck in! it will help make you full0

Well didn't do as well as I hoped but its one day and I'll get right back on the healthy wagon tomorrow, one good thing is that I'm looking forward to eating healthy tomorrow as I'm left feeling a bit groggy after 'pigging out' tonight! I've already put all the leftovers in the bin so wont be nibbling at that tomorrow!0
