Anyone else find that if they get like only 3 hours sleep, they literally get up with the urge to binge on all that is carby and bad?
Sometimes, illness has had me getting up to go to the doctor morning surgery at before 9am, on less than 4 hours sleep, and whenever this has happened, I have ended up at least having toast and a piece of cake out, if not a full on binge.

Today I woke after only 3 hours sleep, as I have been sick for 9 days with the flu and my throat keeps waking me. I decided to just give in and walk to the doctor, which is a 20 minute walk, in the freezing cold. I had my mind on pastries and biscuits and breakfast as soon as I came out, and ended up going to a cafe and having scrambled eggs, beans, mushrooms and toast, with the intention of also binge eating a load of other stuff after. Although I feel really bad for having the breakfast, I am restraining myself from eating anything else, and will just go to bed and sleep another few hours before cycling or going to the gym. I put the foods I bought away. I do not need to binge and purge, just because the cold, lack of sleep, virus and PMT drove me to have a less than healthy breakfast.

Only issue is I am due to have a buffet christmas/swedish meal with my bf tonight as well, so really bad timing for me.
I hope I can stick to soup, salad, fish and vegetables and just have half a dessert.
I end up so angry and defensive with him when I have eaten more than I'd like because it leaves me feeling weak willed, worthless and unlovable. Also, he is one of these people who can eat and eat, and stay very thin (nightmare for someone who gets competitive over thinness and who tends to feel a failure if she is bigger/eats more than others etc.

Yes -- last night I was up 'til 2-3 AM. I get hungry when it's past midnight... especially when I am calorie restricting (lightly)

When I woke up I ate too much, a 1,000 calorie breakfast. Trying not to feel guilty, but I will just be eating maintenance calories today. I think the lack of sleep triggered my binge.

To be honest, if I had the flu but had enough energy to walk around... I might use it as an excuse to binge because atleast I know I'd purge it (being sick).

A lot of guys can eat more food. I'm sorry you feel that way.

Hugs~ Good luck with the dinner tonight. Remember you are worth more than the binge - don't let it win.

Isn't the sort of flu where you vomit, and if it was, you surely wouldn't feel like eating anyway? I have had gastric flu before a few times and it was absolutely dreadful, worse than any other ailment I have suffered.

I didn't binge but I did eat more than I was happy with, I go with the good intention of only having certain things, avoiding certain things etc etc, but that never, ever works for me. I wish I was one of those people who would choose the fruit salad over the cake. So although I cycled for 100 minutes and walked an hour, I still went over by about 800.

    Oh I get it.

And I don't really know, I guess I haven't had the flu for quite some time. Maybe I wouldn't want to eat .

It could have been worse, atleast today was binge free!!
