Starting Whole 30 today!!

I would love advice and support. I am starting the whole 30 today and am so excited!! I have heard of so many great benefits coming from this and can't wait to experience it! I am going grocery shopping today to be fully prepared, any advice? After the Whole 30 I am going into Paleo eating hopefully for life..maybe a few little cheats down the road..So far today I blended some frozen no sugar added berries with water and drank that and had 2 eggs cooked with some extra virgin olive oil. Do you guys keep a calorie count on this? Also can we have canned tuna? Thanks I would love if others were starting this with me :-)

Congrats! The first week of Whole 30 is difficult, but after the detox is done you feel amazing. I ate low sodium tuna in water during my Whole 30. I also made my own mayo for tuna salad (not hard, a little messy and only lasts a week.) Do not be scared to increase your fat consumption. I had a lot of difficulties with my energy level until I figured this out. Good luck!0

Good for you!! No way I would start in Dec!!:) I did it Oct-Nov and am gonna try it again in January!! Yep, my second one! I am hoping this time I will do better when I complete it than last time.:(0

I started one in October and only lasted about 14 days I've really fallen off the wagon so I'm hoping to get back on track and I'm planning to do a W30 in Jan.0

Cooking with olive oil is a no-no. Try coconut oil instead. Or butter. Or bacon fat.
Yes, canned tuna us a go.
No, you generally don't count calories unless you're a pro athlete or at that level.

You can cook with olive oil. The anti-oxidants will protect it from being damaged if you stick with low heat. I like over easy eggs with it0

Good luck on your Whole30! I just finished mine on December 4th and am looking forward to doing another one in the near future. Might do it again for the New Year. I had good results, and my husband had amazing results. I made a list of grocery items on my blog that were my staples on my Whole30, hope this helps you ...
At Costco I get: Frozen Wild Alaska Salmon, Frozen Tilapia Filets, Chicken & Apple Sausages, canned wild caught Tuna, avocados, sweet potatoes, onions, eggs, bananas, coconut oil, clementines, organic apples, spinach, bell peppers, pre-cut butternut squash, mushrooms, asparagus and a fruit bowl.
At Earth Fare or HealthWise Foods (local) I get: Organic Grass-Fed ground beef and steaks, organic pork breakfast sausage, bacon, chicken legs, breasts and thighs, Larabars and sunflower butter.

I think I'll side with Mark on this one and continue cooking with my olive oil (which is safely stored in a cold dark portion of my pantry, away from the stove and always tightly closed. And very good quality oil at that)0
