Can someone help me please? Just got my new test result back, not too sure what they mean. I think they are going in the right direction since I was hyper before, but am I getting too low now on T4? Getting cold now, no appetite and tired. Am I hypo already?? :sick:

Before RAI (10/31)
TSH= <0.01
Free T4= 2.3 (0.8 to 1.7)
Total T3, not done

11/27
TSH=<0.01
Free T4= 1.8 (0.8 to 1.7)
Total T3= 161 (50 to 170)

12/19
TSH=.01
Free T4= 1.3 (0.8 to 1.7)
Total T3=120(50 to 170)

    Hi,
    Sorry, I don't know anything about RAI
    Your TSH looks too low, but you already know that. Are you feeling better? Are you on Natural Thyroid, or synthetic?

    I hope you can find answers. Did you look on stopthethyroidmadness.com ?

    I also was super hyper with Hashimoto's as well first and had RAI. It takes a while to see the full effect of what the RAI will do to your thyroid. It took me about 4-5 months to see the full results of how much of my thyroid function was killed and how much replacement hormone I would need. So, it is a good thing you are getting the blood work done in the interim and watching for it. My endo waited until the 3 month mark to test me after the RAI and began treatment at that point. That is why your TSH still looks so low. Don't know if you are already feeling the effects of being hypo yet since your other numbers seem to be in range. But, you are adjusting to not be hyper anymore - sensitive to heat, tons of energy, ravenous appetite and all the other symptoms.

    Well.. I've been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's Thyroiditis for 8 years now. I'm not hyper, but hypo. (It makes me feel like a hippo, that's for sure...)

    I can tell you this.

    Even if you are on the "perfect" dose for your body... You're still going to have bad days, unfortunately. That's the joys of having thyroid issues. My TSH levels were at 18 (ugh and woah) my last blood draw, and they upped my meds about a month ago. I still feel like walking death. It can take months for your body to feel the full affect of the "proper" dose and even then, like I said.. You're still gonna have some symptoms and still have lousy days.

    Hang in there.

    Hi there - I have Graves and was hyper for a long time. I had RAI about 18 months ago and it definitely takes time to adjust to what your new normal will be. My endo had me wait 3 months before the first round of tests which were fairly normal but shortly afterwards, I went hypo - was not feeling good and should have gone sooner to get my levels again. My best advice is keep track of your symptoms (when do you get tired/how much sleep are you getting, appetite, any other changes) and if they start to change/get worse, call your doctor - I think they tend to listen a bit more when you have been data on your symptoms. And yes, you can go hypo fairly fast but it's hard to know at first, especially if you've been hyper for a while because you just feel so sloooowwwww!

    Your T4 is already almost hypo, which would likely explain your hypo symptoms.

    I would ask for a free T3 test - the total T3 test isn't helpful. You need to know if your body is converting your T4 into T3 well.

    I'm not sure how much your body will swing back and forth as your thyroid dies off, but to be honest I'd be asking for a low dose of meds already. I'd get that free T3 tested and see where it's at. You want it in the top 1/3 of the range your lab uses.

    They should also still be testing your graves antibodies to see if they are dying off.
