Lapband port issues eroding through skin

Any of you lapbanders had any issues with your port poking through your skin, not just poking through but actually feeling very sore of you bump it, touch it, or sleep on it?
I saw my doc for a fill a couple of weeks ago and he said mine was very superficial to the skin and maybe starting to erode through and I would need to have it repositioned.
I thought how the hell can it come through the skin? I spoke to one the the docs I work with and she felt it and confirmed what he'd said. It may erode thriough the skin and that I need to keep a careful eye on it.
Anyone else had any issues or heard of this?
I'm terrified.

I had a friend who had it done and a part of it actually pushed its way out of her abdomen. I didn't see it in person, just pics. Not a pretty sight.0

Do you mean through the skin? As in, completely through it into the atmosphere?0
