Ok ladies, here it is two days before Christmas...a time of indulging in rich food, treats galore, and probably not taking the time out to exercise. For some of us it brings added stress and emotional overload. Yes, we all love our family and friends but sometimes it just gets to be too much.
The challenge this week is all about SURVIVING the HOLIDAYS! Here are some holiday survival tips which I am sure we've all heard a gazillion times but it doesn't hurt to keep them in mind, right?
1. Drink a big glass of water before your Christmas meal to help you feel fuller.
2. If the parents, kids, cousins, siblings, husbands, etc start stressing you out try to take a minute to go for a quick walk and just breathe, even if it is only to the end of the driveway and back. Clear your head.
3. If you are enjoying libations on the holiday, try to drink a glass of water in between each cocktail, glass of wine or mug of beer.
4. Use a smaller plate at dinner, and take a small serving of each item you want. Don't deprive yourself, eat freely but keep it moderate.
5. Don't beat yourself up if after the presents are opened, you're sitting on the couch with your pants unbuttoned and in a food coma. It'll be ok. Do better the next day.
6. Remember you have a support system here.
Well, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! I am looking forward to spending it with my awesome family! I hope Santa brings everyone what they asked for. Be safe, be blessed, have fun!
