Too eager to exercise no matter what

Hi Steve,

I think I'm heading into a danger zone. When I first started this journey I hated working out. now that I've found programs that I love I can't stop. To add insult to injury I'm having a hard time eating back some of my calories without eating things like McDonald's. I don't know if you've heard of this phenomenon called aerobic anorexia, but do you think that's where I'm headed?

If I'm bored, I exercise. If I feel to much energy 3 or 4 hrs before bedtime, I exercise. Rest days are trouble for me because I can't sit still. Most rest days I am actually exercising.

Thanks,
Kay

Without viewing your diary to see exactly what you are consuming (and by how much you are under) and calories you’ve burned during exercise we can't really judge whether you have moved beyond the point of being a gym rat to possibly having an eating disorder.

If this was a dramatic change in your life – from no exercise to a lot it may seem to be “excessive” now to you and your non-active friends and family but most likely it’s all in your head, don’t fret.
