Coconut sugar?

Has anyone tried coconut sugar?

My mom swears by it (she wants me to stop consuming Splenda) and wants to make ice cream with it that she thinks I'll be able to eat. I tried to do some of my own research online and found very little info about it and WLS.

    Now when mixed with things. I haven't tried it plain (that might be pushing it...).

    Also, if you live where there are Stop & Shops, I found coconut sugar in the natural foods section.

    seems to me it doesn't matter if it comes from coconuts, cane, or beets it's just sugar and that leads to dumping and all the bad foods that make us fat in the first place. I would stay clear and stick with the sugar free sugar but that's me.
